My figurative art from the RenoIowa Retreat

This year was my first time at the retreat held in Marshalltown, Iowa where Sherry Goshon and Jean Bernard team teach new art doll techniques. It was extremely intense and after 3 days we all went home exhausted but so inspired and happy. We all had our pieces to finish so here is mine. I am so excited about the way she turned out!!!

Soo far behind

Sorry, I'm so far behind in posts!!!! So will attempt to do a quick catchup here. It is hot and sultry here in AZ so a good time to stay inside. I'm posting some photos recalling some of what I've been up to. Going back to May when I attended CIFI with some gal pals. I will post picture of my class doll made in Arley Berryhill's class. Learned some new techniques. Also did Jean Bernard's internet class doing doll tiaras. Will show more and describe as I go along.

Since we moved to Sun City Anthem at Merrill Ranch I've also become busy starting a new Fiber Arts club and joining a new doll club, The Fabric Floozies so will try to update happenings with them as well as the other art I'm doing on my own.

WOW!!!

I haven't posted in ages. Just too busy playing and doing physical therapy for my back. It is so much better since the new injections and PT. I am working on more of the brooches and am actually making a quilt top from a pattern so not much creativity on that. I did do several soft stuffed and embellished heart valentines for the club and to mail to my kids. More soon.

tyvek play

For a new project for our recently started Fiber Arts Club I did a workshop using tyvek postal envelopes. Here are the brooches I made starting with the tyvek and using, toilet paper rolls, polymer clay heads, glass glitter, micro-beads, feathers, parts of silk flowers, beads and very old pearls. They were fun and I like the way they turned out. LOL But what a mess in the studio!!!!

Bob and Beethoven

Son Bob stopped in for a short visit while he was in Phoenix for business. He made quite a hit with Beethoven. Beethoven is a real chow hound so guess why he took to Bob but it was sweet anyway. Here they are in Marv's recliner.

The new jacket is coming along.

I have been beading on my new jacket and have several more hours before it's ready to line. However, it's coming along. ;-))

Halloween fun

I love the brilliant fall colors and halloween, too. Here is a peek at some halloween bags I made as well as a couple of dolls made on presewn muslin dolls. I used them as samples for my grandkids who come to play regularly. Then I had to do my own Mr. Halloween. I drew a pattern on newspaper and went to work. He is finished but I know things that I's do differently on another one. LOL

Penguins

Today I started to make a paper mache penguin as a sample for the grands when they come on Wednesday. It is turning into quite a project. Will share when I get further along. I hope I finish one before Wed. LOL
