I guess that I never did post a picture of the bag that I made for LeeAnn. I thought that it was perfect to use on their trip to Hawaii. Here is another purse also. It is just fun to wear for happiness.
After MANY years as a frustrated wannabe artist I was able to begin doing IT after quitting my jobs in education. I did infuse the arts into my teaching at every opportunity. Now I dabble in the fiber arts as much as possible. I also enjoy being with family, reading, playing poker, walking my dog, Beethoven and teaching quilting arts and other areas of the fiber arts.

Another new bag
I guess that I should get back to my dolls and quilts but I'm loving making the bags!!! This one is made of home deck fabric, floral on the outside and plaid on the inside. It has lots of pockets and is embellished with a hand made flower made from vintage kimono silk and vintage buttons and beads as well as a fun fringe. I am getting a lot of practice on free motion quilting as I quilt these bags. They are so fun to make and everybody loves them!!!

Momma's got a brand new bag
I could hardly wait to get home to my sewing machine and studio!!! We spent a few days at a very nice casino in Temecula, CA and I took nothing but a book with me. Even with playing poker several hours a day I needed some thing to work on. So I came home and made another bag from Tanya's pattern. A good fix for sure. I have 3 more bags of various styles and sizes cut out.
But next on the table is my challenge project for our Embellishment group. You'll see it soon. It's partially done.

New bags, so much fun!!!!
Our quilt club just had Tanya Greb come and teach one of her original bags. Of course they are quilted. But so much fun to make!!! These are the 2 that I made. What a talented lady she is and fun, too. You may remember the red fringed bag from an earlier class and her original pattern also. Thank you, Tanya.

old and new
I sent the yellow bag in a photo below to my daughter in law for her trip to Hawaii. She moved right into it and loves it!!! I'm so glad!! And today I worked on a mini-quilt as a sample for tomorrows embellishment class.
