After MANY years as a frustrated wannabe artist I was able to begin doing IT after quitting my jobs in education. I did infuse the arts into my teaching at every opportunity. Now I dabble in the fiber arts as much as possible. I also enjoy being with family, reading, playing poker, walking my dog, Beethoven and teaching quilting arts and other areas of the fiber arts.

Dolls, Dolls, Dolls!!!
I went to EDAC, Enchanted Doll Artists Conference, in Albuquerque this month and took a wonderful 3 day class from Gloria Mimi Winer. So many new techniques!!! The dolls, the classes, the free miniclasses, The hotel, the food were all great so get ready to go next year. You can't beat the reasonable cost and the teachers are tops.
Now to show you a couple of round robin dolls that will be making their way to the next person. Remember that I'm in 3 round robins so who knows which belongs to which group.
The first one came as a stump doll with no garments. I gave her an elegant dress all decorated with diamonds/saworski crystals. LOL
The next one came carrying his head which the poor thing is still holding. I gave him elegant shoes to go with his outfit. I hope that someone attaches his head!!!!

Doll luggage (bag)
Here it is!! The wonderful bag (Valerie made it) with the dolls attached. (I made the dolls) It is a large bag with lots of pockets. Pattern from Gathering Stitches with some modifications to the dolls. I'll be taking it to EDAC tomorrow. Don't know EDAC? It's a great doll conference held each year at Albuquerque, NM. Enchanted Doll Artists Conference. If you haven't been you might want to watch it for next year. I'm taking a 3 day class from Mimi Winer. I'll show you the doll when I get home.

Betty Boop got some embellishments
finally finished
I finished putting on the binding last night while watching a movie with my DH. This quilt, from the Yellow Brick Road pattern, was taught by Linda for our quilt club last summer I think. It was supposed to go to my son who hosted our family holiday party last year. Well, it's a little late. I added lace and some cute little holiday messages that I cut out of holiday fabrics giving it a little different look and keeping in the holiday theme. The Yellow Brick Road is a fairly quick to make quilt and can be made using lots of different themes. Thank you, Linda.
Micki
You know Micki from the quilt jewelry??? Well here she is with 2 more of her stunning creations. One is a wonderful big tassel that she created last month with our group and the other, her unfinished hat model. We worked on our hat models and hats in doll group Friday. We have a most wonderful group of talented ladies!!!!

Hat mannequin
A winter satchel
As you know some of us are making fun hand bags. We are meeting the fourth Frday of each month to do whatever someone comes up with, a new pattern, something interesting to see. The only rule is that it is fun to do. So here is another bag, a winter satchel. When I got bogged down with too many projects Angie volunteered to put in the lining and finish it.. Thanks, Angie! I used fabric with dragons that I've had in my stash for a couple of years.
