After MANY years as a frustrated wannabe artist I was able to begin doing IT after quitting my jobs in education. I did infuse the arts into my teaching at every opportunity. Now I dabble in the fiber arts as much as possible. I also enjoy being with family, reading, playing poker, walking my dog, Beethoven and teaching quilting arts and other areas of the fiber arts.

Just made this little tyvek brooch. I has silk leaves and beads as well. It's my first playing with tyvek. Ooops!! It printed side ways. ;-((

I forgot to tell you the artist's name. It's Tanya Greb who lives here locally. She sells on Ebay and Etsy.

it sews beautifully
What a machine that Janome 6600 is!!! I've been using it for a couple of days. The needle threader and thread cutter are wonderful and it stitches nicely, too. It's everything it's touted to be.

wire chair
Yesterday some of us who belong to Silver Dollers gathered at Bobbye's house to make doll chairs using coat hangers and # 16 wire. We designed our chairs with wire, used light weight wire to hold it all together and to help the warm and natural batting to hold tight as we wrapped the chair before using fabrics and embellishments to complete it. Here is how far it is right now.
Bobbye served a wonderful lunch featuring her famous tuna/pasta salad. She is a very gracious hostess.
It was a fun day with all 10 of us making our chairs.
