After MANY years as a frustrated wannabe artist I was able to begin doing IT after quitting my jobs in education. I did infuse the arts into my teaching at every opportunity. Now I dabble in the fiber arts as much as possible. I also enjoy being with family, reading, playing poker, walking my dog, Beethoven and teaching quilting arts and other areas of the fiber arts.

The last birthday doll
I got word that the last recipient of a birthday doll likes antiques and collectables so I made this reproduction old doll for her. She is all cotton but her head, arms and legs are gessoed and painted. Then they are sanded, rubbed and otherwise abused to get an old look. She wears a silver love heart, an old celluloid button and an old hanky at her waist. I hope that she likes it.

Pirate and his wench
Sending a photo of my pirate, Bad Bill, and his beloved wench, Syl. The pirate was made from a Shirley Dugan class and Syl came from a body and one arm that I "inherited". As she took shape I couldn't keep Bad Bill out of the work room. He was smitten and she succumbed to his "charms"? and his trunk of gold and gems. They keep each other in line and reside peacefully together. They will soon go to one of my son's house to live in their tropical guest room

Travellina
This wispy little doll will be traveling this summer as part of an adventure where the dolls travel from one person to the next where she will be photographed and give out gifts. Then she will go to the next destination where she will again visit places of interest, be photographed and give out gifts and on until she comes home to share her loot with her maker. Fun, huh??
